Message	My car was an Auto - 5spd conversion and it has the "weird" gas gauge. That might sound like it backs your theory, but I pulled the (original) gauge cluster out of a 90TT 5-speed and it also has the "weird" gas gauge. Besides, it's not like autos/manuals use different gas tanks or sending units (as far as I know).
